Went out tonight between 7:00 and 7:30 (time change) and i was thinking cold (49F) and windy, it’ll be a bust. Deer hunters know if its windy the wind will usually lay down just before dark. Sure enough, the wind laid down and I started seeing rises on the pond. It was too cold for mosquitoes so I don’t know what they were hitting, midges maybe, but they started taking my skeeter. Slower than it has been but I landed 4 nice ones before it was too dark to fish. My mosquito looks just like an adult blood midge, Chironomid Attenuatus, so it’s really a great little fly because it works on both hatches.
