My brother sent me this “Crazy Legs Frog” from Breambugs.com. I liked its looks immediately when I opened the box. The green splattered body and the green and black jiggy skirt just looked to me like something a bass would like. I had a new reel on a G Loomis 9wt rod of mine which I thought would be just about right to cast the big hard body frog. I tied it on with a non-slip loop to give it more action, but then a loop is a good idea too because it helps to keep the twist down which can sometimes happen using popping bugs.

I was right, the bass in my neighborhood ponds loved it and the 9 wt handled the frog easily. I caught about six that afternoon and had a ball doing it.
On the website the frog is described as “tied on a number 2 hook and has weed guards as an additional feature. There are 22 strands of two inch long green and black rubber for each rubber leg giving the popper lots of action in the water. If you are chasing big bass this one will catch them. Made in the USA by Pultz Poppers.”
